§. 24. Die erste Note von den bey Fig. IX. [Ex. I:196] befindlichen Figuren, weil sie geschleift werden, wird nicht zu kurz abgefertiget, wenn das Tempo gemäßigt oder langsam ist, weil sonst zu viel Zeit-Raum übrig bleiben würde. Diese erste Note wird durch einen gelinden Druck, aber ja nicht durch einen kurzen Stoß oder zu schnellen Ruck marquirt.	§24. In a moderate or slow tempo, the first notes of the combinations in Ex. I:196 must not be performed too quickly because of the slurs, otherwise the remaining time [of the dotted note] would be too long. These initial notes are stressed with a gentle pressure, yet not with a sudden jab or a too rapid release.
