§. 13. Der Triller über einer Note, welche etwas lang ist, sie mag hinauf oder herunter gehen, hat allezeit einen Nachschlag. Wenn nach der Note mit dem Triller ein Sprung folgt Fig. XXVII. [Ex. I:98] (a), so findet der Nachschlag auch statt.	§13. A trill on a somewhat long note, whether ascending or descending, always has a termination. There is also a termination if a leap follows the trill, see Ex. I:98 (a).

Wenn die Noten kurz sind, so leidet ihn eine drauf folgende steigende Secunde allezeit eher (b), als eine fallende (c).	If the notes are short, the termination fits better if an ascending (b) rather than descending (c) second follows.

Da bey ganz langsamer Zeit-Maaß folgende Arten Noten (d) einen Nachschlag vertragen, ohngeacht die geschwinde Folge nach den Puncten die Stelle eines Nachschlags vertreten könnte: so siehet man hieraus, daß blos eine fallende Secunde diesem Nachschlage am meisten zuwider ist. Die Ausführung dieses Exempels (d) mit Nachschlägen werden wir im folgenden §. bey Gelegenheit der punctirten Noten deutlich ersehen.	In a very slow tempo, the notes at (d) tolerate a termination, although the series of quick notes after the dot might replace the termination. Here we find that a descending second tolerates a termination the least. We will clearly see the execution of example (d) with terminations from the following paragraph about dotted notes.

Es ist indessen keine nothwendige Schuldigkeit, bey diesem letztern Exempel Nachschläge zu machen, wenn man nur den Triller gehörig aushält. Ein Triller ohne folgende Noten, z. E. am Ende, über einer Fermate u.s.w. hat allezeit einen Nachschlag.	There is no obligation, though, to perform a termination in the latter example, provided you sustain the trill adequately. A trill without any subsequent notes, for example, at the end [of a piece], on a fermata, etc., always has a termination.
