Chapter 1. On fingering

§. 57. Fis dur auf- und absteigend hat nebst Es moll im Absteigen eine gemeinschaftliche unter Fig. XXXII. [Ex. I:32] abgebildete Applicatur.	§57. F-sharp major ascending and descending, as well as E-flat minor descending, have the same fingering, illustrated in Ex. I:32.

Die bey dem aufsteigenden Es moll, laut Fig. XXXIII. [Ex. I:33] ist eben dieselbe, ohngeacht so wohl die Größe der Intervallen als auch die Schreib-Art von jenen unterschieden ist. Wir bemerken bey der linken Hand eine nöthige Ausnahme von unserer im 33. §. angeführten Regel, vermöge welcher statt des c der Daumen ins d hätte gesetzt werden sollen.	The fingering of E-flat minor ascending is also the same, according to Ex. I:33, although both the size of its intervals and its spelling are different. Regarding the left hand, we note a necessary exception to the rule stated in §33, according to which the thumb should have been placed on D instead of on C.
