§. 40. Man übersetze diese kurzen Exempel mit allen Lagen in alle Tonarten, weiche und harte, damit sie, nebst ihrer Schreibart den Scholaren recht bekannt werden. In der Folge überlasse man ihnen dieses Uebersetzen selbst.

§40. One transposes these brief examples in all positions into all keys, both major and minor, so that the pupil can become familiar with them, as well as their notation. Eventually pupils are required to transpose the exercises themselves.
