§. 7. Wenn der Sänger nicht recht tonfeste ist, so thut man beßer, daß man die Harmonie zugleich einigemal hinter einander anschlägt, als wenn man einzelne Intervalle angiebt. Bey den Recitativen kommt es hauptsächlich auf die Richtigkeit der Harmonie an, und man muß nicht allezeit fordern, daß der Sänger, zumal bey gleichgültigen Stellen, just die vorgeschriebenen Noten, und keine andern singen soll. Es ist genug, wenn er in der gehörigen Harmonie declamirt. Bey einer fremden Ausweichung kann man allenfalls das schwere Intervall allein anschlagen.	§7. If the singer is not entirely sure of his tones, then it is better to play the harmony multiple times consecutively than to only give individual intervals. In recitatives the main thing is that the harmony is correct: hence one need not always demand that the singer only sing the notated pitches, and no others, especially in less important passages. It suffices that he declaim in the proper harmony. In a foreign modulation one can always play the difficult interval alone.
Wenn man sich auf die Geschicklichkeit des Sängers hinlänglich verlassen kann, so muß man nicht gleich stutzen, wenn er in folgendem Exempel (a), statt der Vorschrift, die Ausführung von (1) und (2) wählet. Oft ist hieran eine Bequemlichkeit wegen der Höhe und Tiefe Schuld, oft auch eine Vergeßenheit, weil die Sänger bey dem Auswendiglernen, die sich immer ähnlichen Recitativmodulationen leicht verwechseln, indem sie sich mehr die Grundharmonien, als die vorgeschriebenen Noten einprägen.	If one can rely sufficiently on the skill of the singer, then one need not rush in immediately if, in example (a) below, he chooses (1) or (2) rather than the notated version at (a). The reason for a different choice is often the register, or a misremembering of the passage, since in memorizing singers easily mix up the consistently similar recitative progressions because they imprint the foundational harmonies more than the notated pitches.



Ich vergebe es eher einem Accompagnisten, daß er von dem zuweilen vorkommenden Exempel (b) überrascht wird, wenn die Ziffern fehlen, das Tempo hurtig ist, und die Hälfte des Exempels vielleicht gar auf dem Anfange einer neuen Zeile geschrieben stehet: als wenn er vor den verwechselten Ausführungen bey (a) stutzet.	I am more likely to forgive an accompanist if he is surprised by example (b), which occasionally occurs, if the figures are missing, the tempo is fast, and half of the example is perhaps even written on the beginning of a new line, than if he hesitates at the various versions of (a).
