| 36. Capitel. Von durchgehenden Noten | Chapter 36. On passing tones |
| §. 1. Die Andeutung der durchgehenden Noten ist in den mehrsten Fällen eben so nöthig, als die Andeutung der Ziffern. Weil nun die Bezifferer auch hierinnen nicht genau genug verfahren, so muß man nach und nach durch eine fleißige Uebung im Accompagniren, und durch ein aufmerksam Ohr die durchgehenden Noten heraus suchen lernen (a). Man erräth diese letztern zuweilen aus der vorher gegangenen Harmonie, welche zu den folgenden Noten paßt (b), und aus der nöthigen Vorbereitung und Auflösung (a) und (c): | §1. The indication of passing tone is in most cases just as necessary as the indication of figures. Yet since those who add figures are not experienced enough in this regard, one must learn to recognize passing tones gradually over time via the diligent practice of accompaniment and through an attentive ear (a). Sometimes one can infer passing tones from the previous harmony, which fits with the following bass notes (b), or from the necessity of preparation and resolution, as in (a) and (c). |
