§. 10. Die Verdoppelung im Einklange erlaubt mehr Freyheit als die in der Octave. Bey jener kann allenfalls ein zufällig Erhöhungszeichen verdoppelt werden, wenn man z. E. den Sprüngen aus dem Wege gehen will:	§10. The doubling at the unison allows more freedom than the doubling at the octave. In the former case a chromatically raised tone can if necessary be doubled, for example when one wishes to avoid leaps:

Da dieses die Componisten zuweilen in ihren Mittelstimmen thun, wobey doch allezeit diese Verdoppelung zwey Töne hören läßt: so kann man es den Clavieristen noch eher erlauben, weil auf ihrem Instrumente nur ein Anschlag zum Gehör kommt.	Since composers occasionally double chromatically raised tones in their middle voices, where this doubling always involves the sounding of two tones, one can all the more permit keyboardists to do the same, as on their instrument only one tone is sounded.
