§. 3. Zuweilen fermirt man aus Affect, ohne daß etwas angedeutet ist. Ausserdem aber kommen diese Fermaten auf dreyerley Art vor. Man hält entweder über der vorletzten Note, oder über der letzten Note des Basses, oder nach dieser über einer Pause stille.	§3. Sometimes you hold without a notated fermata, due to the affect. Apart from this, there are three kinds of fermatas. Either you hold the penultimate note, or the last one of the bass, or the rest thereafter.
Es sollte dieses Zeichen von Rechtswegen allezeit an dem Orte, wo man anfängt zu fermiren und allenfalls noch einmal, bey dem Ende der Fermate, angedeutet seyn.	Rightfully, the symbol should be placed at the point where you start to hold and once more where you stop, if need be.
