§. 2. Man braucht diese letztern oft mit guter Würkung; sie erwecken eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit.	§2. They [fermatas] are often used with good effect and to arouse special attention.
Man deutet sie durch das gewöhnliche Zeichen eines Bogens mit einem Puncte darunter an, und hält so lange dabey stille, als es ohngefehr der Inhalt des Stückes erfordert.	They are indicated by the symbol of a small arch with a dot beneath and one holds them about as long as the content of the piece requires.
