§. 3. Man hat noch eine besondere Art, den Mordenten, wenn er ganz kurz seyn soll, zu machen (c). Von diesen beyden zugleich angeschlagenen Noten wird allein die oberste gehalten, die unterste hebt man gleich wieder auf. Dieser Ausdruck ist nicht zu verwerfen, so lange als man ihn seltner als die andern Mordenten anbringt. Er kommt blos ex abrupto, d. i. ohne Verbindung vor.	§3. There is a special way to perform the mordent if it needs to be very short (c). From the two notes struck together, the upper one is held and the lower one released immediately. This manner of execution is not objectionable if used less often than the others. Such a mordent occurs only ex abrupto, that is, when no slurs are involved.
