§. 18. Alle diese Vorschläge, nebst ihren Abzügen, wenn sie zumal häufig vorkommen, thun besonders bey sehr affectuösen Stellen gut, indem der letztere oft mit einem Pianissimo gleichsam verlöscht, Fig. XIV. All of these appoggiaturas and their resolutions, especially if there are many of them, do particularly well in passages with a strong affect, as they fade out to pianissimo, as it were; see Ex. Bey andern Gelegenheiten aber würden sie den Gesang zu matt machen, wenn sie nicht alsdenn entweder die Vorläufer von lebhaftern Manieren wären, welche die folgende Note bekommet, oder selbst noch einen Zusatz von andern Zierrathen annähmen.	Yet, in other cases they would render the melody too languid, unless they were preparing a more lively ornament of the following main note, or became a part of another embellishment themselves.
