§. 75. Die bey Fig. XLVII. [Ex. I:47] befindlichen Exempel zeigen, daß man zuweilen theils wegen der vorhergehenden, theils folgenden Noten an statt des Daumens den zweyten Finger, und an statt des kleinen den vierten Finger in Octaven Sprüngen braucht.	§75. The examples in Ex. I:47 show that sometimes one uses the second finger instead of the thumb and the fourth finger instead of the fifth in octave leaps, partly because of the preceding notes, partly because of the following ones.

Der Daumen, wenn er auf einem halben Tone ist, kann nicht so übergeschlagen werden, wie wir bey Fig. XLVIII. [Ex. I:48] sehen.	No finger may cross over the thumb in the manner we see in Ex. I:48 if the thumb is on a raised key.
