§. 5.    Von Rechtswegen muß das zufällige Versetzungszeichen, wie bey allen Ziffern, also auch bey der Terz vorgebildet werden: dem ohngeachtet aber findet man es zuweilen nicht angedeutet; man setzt zum voraus, daß man aus der Modulation von selbst wisse, wie die Terz seyn muß. Bey folgenden Exempeln müßte die verminderte Terz ausdrücklich mit einem Be über die Grundnote gesetzt werden, wenn man sie nehmen sollte: §5.    By rights Rightfully, [ul] the chromatic accidental must, as in all figures, also be indicated with the third; nevertheless it is occasionally missing. It is assumed that it is obvious from the context [Modulation] what kind of third is required. In the following examples, the diminished third would have to be explicitly indicated with a flat over the bass note, if it were intended:
