| §. 10. Bey der verminderten Quarte ist die Sexte klein (a); bey der übermäßigen ist sie groß (b), und bey der reinen kann sie groß und klein seyn, wie wir schon oben gehöret haben (c). Wenn wir das mit einem (x) bezeichnete Exempel ausnehmen, so werden wir finden, daß dieser Fall nicht leicht anders, als bey herauf- und hinuntergehenden Grundnoten vorkommt. Bey den zwey letztern Exempeln ist dies die beste Lage, wo die vorhergehende 4/3, oder 6/5 zerstreuet liegen. | §10. The diminished fourth requires a minor sixth (a); the augmented fourth requires a major sixth (b); and the perfect fourth can take either a major or minor sixth, as we already know (c). If we exclude the passage marked with an (x), then we will find that this case tends to occur only with bass notes that ascend or descend by step. In the last two examples, the best position is for the preceding 4/3 or 6/5 chords to occur in spread position. |
