Zuweilen muß man, wegen der Vorbereitung der Septime, vorher die Octave zur fünften Stimme nehmen: alsdenn behält man hernach die schon in der Hand liegende Quinte bey unserm Accord, diese letztere mag falsch, rein oder übermäßig seyn: | §5. Sometimes one must take the octave as a fifth voice [in the previous chord] in order to prepare the seventh; in this case one retains afterwards the fifth, which is already present in the hand, in the 9/7 chord. The fifth may be diminished, perfect, or augmented: |
