§. 6. Bey der dreystimmigen Begleitung kann entweder die Secunde, oder die Quarte wegbleiben. Man pflegt dieses alsdenn, wenn es nöthig ist, durch  , oder  anzudeuten. Bey der letzten Signatur, muß man auf die Auflösung der Septime genau acht haben, damit man nicht, statt unseres Accordes, den Quartseptimenaccord nehme.

§6. In three-voice accompaniment, one may omit either the second or the fourth. One tends to indicate this, when necessary, , or . In the latter case one must be sure to resolve the seventh, so that one does not play a 7/4 chord by accident.
