Chapter 1. On intervals and their signatures

§. 46. Man theilt die Ziffern, welche nachgeschlagen werden, folgender Gestalt in die Geltung der Baßnote ein. Wenn diese letztere zween gleiche Theile, und eine Ziffer, oder mehrere über einander seitwärts bey sich hat, so werden die Ziffern, die zur Seite stehen, zum zweyten Theile der Baßnote angeschlagen:	§46. One divides those figures that are played subsequently by the value of the bass note, as shown below. If the bass note has two equal parts and a figure (or multiple figures over one another) to its right side, then the figure or figures to the right are played with the second part of the bass note.

Bey einer Note von zween gleichen Theilen mit zween Ziffern neben einander, theilen sich die Ziffern in die Geltung der Note gleich:	On a note with two equal parts with two figures next to each other, then the figures divide the value of the note equally:

Sind drey Ziffern neben einander über einer solchen Note, so kommt die erste Hälfte der ersten Ziffer, welche gerade über der Note stehet, zu, und die andere Hälfte fällt in gleicher Theilung auf die zwo letztern Ziffern:	If three figures appear next to each other over such a note, then the first half goes to the first figure that appears directly over the note, and the second half is divided equally for the last two figures.
