§. 1. Den kurzen Mordent in der Gegen-Bewegung, dessen höchsten Ton man schnellt, und die übrigen beyden mit dem steifen Finger vorträget, habe ich jederzeit, ohne Veränderung, so angedeutet, wie wir Tab. VI. unter Fig. XCIV. [Ex. I:177] sehen.	§1. I have indicated everywhere and without any alteration the short mordent in contrary motion as in ex. i:177. The highest note is played with a snap and the two other ones with a stiff finger.

Wegen dieses Schnellens kann man diese noch sonsten nicht bemerkte Manier gar wohl den Schneller nennen. Diese Manier ist so wohl in der Bewegung der Noten, als im Gebrauche das Gegentheil vom Mordenten. In den Noten ist sie dem Prall-Triller vollkommen ähnlich.	Due to the snapping, one may call this ornament, not yet described in other writings, the snap. Both with respect to its melodic line and its application it is the opposite of the mordent. The notes themselves are exactly those of the short trill.
