Bach is referring here to (1) a figure with two strokes through it, (2) two sharp signs next to each other, and (3) the modern double sharp symbol. The “zween Striche” are (mistakenly?) not shown in the original music example. It is likely that the first measure was intended to be as shown below, instead of with the double sharp symbol. | |
